Budget Mobile offers Free LifeLine Phones in California including unlimited free calls, unlimited free text messages, and 250mb of data.  Through this free government phone program, those who struggle to pay their bills don't have to worry about how many minutes or texts their using per month helping reduce a little stress in their day to day life. This especially is helpful in emergency situations such as when you need to call for last minute daycare, call for a tow on your broken down car, or have a job interview on the phone that goes long. 

To qualify for California LifeLine Phone program through Budget Mobile, applicants must meet some basic qualifications.  

Low Income Qualifications
  • 1-2 Family Members - $25,700 per year
  • 3 Family Members - $29,900 per year
  • 4 Family Members - $36,200
  • Each Additional Family Member - Add $6,300
Important: Only one family member per household can qualify for a Free LifeLine Phone through Budget Mobile.

  • Medicaid/Medi-Cal
  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance or Section 8
  • CalFresh, Food Stamps or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
  • National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
    • 1.  California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs)
    • 2.  Stanislaus County Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (StanWORKs)
    • 3.  Welfare-to-Work (WTW)
    • 4.  Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN)  
  • Tribal TANF
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
  • Head Start Income Eligible (Tribal Only)
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
