Idaho Welfare Recipients Eligible for a Free Phone Through Lifeline Government Assistance Program

Idaho low income consumers can receive a free cell phone and 250 free minutes each month through the Lifeline cell phone program.

You can enroll right from your computer on our Idaho Lifeline cell phone page.

If you are an Idaho resident and have a low income or are a senior living on a fixed income may meet eligibility requirements through your income level.

Persons in HH - 135% Annual Income (at or below)
(1) $15,512, (2) $20,939, (3) $26,366, (4) $31,793,(5) $37,220, (6) $42,647,
(7) $48,074, (8) $53,508
Add $5,427 for each additional person.

You can also be eligible for a free phone if you participate in one of the following government assistance programs:
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance

  • Federal Housing Assistance (Section 8)

  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations

  • Food Stamps

  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

  • Medicaid

  • National School Lunch (free program only)

  • Supplemental Security Income

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families

  • Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
